Trueman Vineyards

Trueman Vineyards is located in southern Maryland in Aquasco. Owned by Amanda and Joel, this winery just opened to the public in November 2024. Their name is a nod to their true authenticity and representative of the fact that they grow all of their own grapes. They are formerly a tobacco farm and have grown a number of other crops until deciding to plant their grapes in 2012. We were lucky enough to choose them as our "home base winery" during the Wine and Dash event put on by the Legacy Wine Trail on March 1, 2025. That made us part of the first group event in their winery and the first people to taste and drink wine in their indoor tasting room. It was rustic but also cozy and chic at the same time. There were cute lights, tables and chairs and a long wood bar with a glass top where Ian and Bri were tasting. Their True Rose has already won silver at the MD Governor's Cup and we could taste why. It had notes of strawberry, lime, orange, watermelon, peach, celery, tart cherry and nice acidity. We did a bottle review podcast on this one so check that out, as well. The traminette was off-dry with orange and lily on the nose and melon, pineapple, honey and creaminess on the palate. The cabernet franc was full of cherry, pepper and smoke with a nice finish. Check out this winery, you won't be disappointed. Also, pop in to their grand opening on March 28th!
