Rocklands Farm Winery
Rocklands Farm Winery is located in Poolesville, Maryland. The farm dates back to the 1800's and is known for its low-intervention, all natural approach to farming and wine making. Their mission is to feed, nourish and engage their community. Their 12-acre vineyard produces wines made with native yeasts, not manipulated with additives and typically bottled unfiltered. The property is large and impressive. The tasting room is in a renovated, rustic barn-style space that boasts two large bars, one for each style of tasting they offer. While we were visiting in April 2025, we saw multiple couples doing wedding tastings. The large, picturesque property makes for a fabulous venue. Per the website, it looks like you can choose from multiple options including a silo green, a historic bank barn, and estate grounds & garden with an 1870's Italianate, Seneca sandstone home in the background. There's even a stone fire pit. During our visit, we were assisted by a very knowledgeable staff person who poured interesting wines from petit manseng, to sparkling to cabernet franc. We did a podcast on the cabernet franc so check it out! The aromas were earthy and the fruits were cherry and blueberry. We learned they aged it in oak and steel to amplify the pepper. Check out this fabulous property.
